Proverb 1:"Glass, china, and reputation are easily cracked and never well meanded"
The proverb is talking about a person's repuation. Once you put yourself in a bad situation and people
start looking at you differently, its hard to fix. In relation to the glass it is very similar. Once you
break glass, it can't be put back togther.
Proverb 2:"A Lie stands on 1 leg, Truth on 2"
This proverb is describing a lie that is always shaky and can't be trusted. A person that stands on one leg is unstable
and not self confident.A person that stands on two legs is very stable and self- confidnet,and can be always trusted.

"He does not possess wealth; it possesses him."
This phrase states that when one is wealthy it gets to the best of them and they get full of themselves or they hide behind their wealth thinking its the best thing in the world. I feel this way because for example, you can have all the money and jewels in the world but if you don't have a companion, you'll still feel lonely. Or another example is when people put themselves on another level than others because of what they own. They won't associate with others because there not wealthy enough or good enough.

I feel like the author of this phrase meant that you can break a glass, glue it back together, but it will still have those cracks. Just like somebody's emotions or in this case, reputation, you can hurt someone, physically or mentally, but those hurtful things will leave a crack that even if "glued" will still be there.

Proverb 1: “There will be sleeping enough in the grave”

I think that this is a very true statement. I think so because when you’re alive, you have so much to do that you don’t have time to sleep until you’ve lived your life and are dead. When you’re dead it’s the only time you are actually sleeping. I can relate to this statement because I had an uncle who did almost everything in his life. He died a few years ago and my grandmother would say “ he’s finally sleeping”.  I never understood that, but now I do.

I think this statement is really relatable to teenagers. I think that because a lot of teens do things that ruin their reputation and  it is hard to get back, just like broken glass. Once your reputation is cracked even a little bit, it can be hard to regain the respect you’ve lost. That’s why I think teens can relate to this because a lot of teens have trouble mending the “cracks” of their reputation. I can relate to this because one I’m a teenager and also because I’ve had friends who’s reputation has been ruined and they are still struggling with it.

This is saying,to me, that you should use your time wisely because if you just sleep all the time or never do anything, then your life will be over before you know it and there will be many opportunities left that you wanted to do that you will never get to. Personally, i want to do all that I can in life and live life and die with no regrets.

"Be ashamed to catch yourself idle."

This proverb and the one above are like to peas in a pod. If you ever find that you have a lot of free time, you should really try your best to get out and be active, accomplish tasks and opportunities. It's okay to have a bit of down time, but you shouldn't turn into a hermit.

I feel that this proverb is very meaningful and I can go on about it for days but I won't. This statement is very true to an extent. When someone gets a little money it changes them COMPLETLEY (majority of people), thats why people say money is the root to all evil. You can be the poorest man/woman alive and as soon as that money hits your pocket you turn into a self-centered manic. As soon as you get the wealth, the money burns a hole in your pocket and your eyes get bigger than your conscious. That's my perspective on that proverb and how I feel about it.

This proverb is my favorite in the "Poor Richard Almanac." It's saying never find yourself slacking and not doing anything. You should always be moving foward and always have your mind set on a goal. If your not willing to get the job done, ALWAYS rememeber there is someone who is. The reason I like this proverb so much is because I want to make something of my life. I want to be THE man, the talk of the town, the guy EVERYONE looks up too, the guy with the big house and nice shiny car outside of it. That's why this proverb is my favorite and I can use it in my life everyday to keep myself dedicated and motivated.

"There'll Be Enough Sleeping in the Grave"
To me, this means that you should never go through life being lazy. You should always strive in your work.You'll have time to rest when you're dead in the grave. I think it's very insightful and impowering. It makes me want to push myself. I can't give an exact reason why other than the quote just is inspiring to me.
"He Does Not Possess Wealth; it Possesses Him"
This means that money will control you. The more money you get, the more money hungry you tend to get. You can never keep it to yourself because you'll always need to spend it on something else. I like this because I find it to be so true. Bills are always needed to be payed and other priorities. Then it always seems like someone then wants apart of your money just because they know you have it.You don't get to keep your money/wealth. Your money gets too keep you.

"Glass, china, and reputation are easily cracked and never well mended" Yes indeed, like fine china our reputations can easily be damaged, it really doesn't take much. A dirty look here, or a word there can easily send your rep crashing around you, such as a little bump can send glass shards flying all around you. Many times I have witnessed my friends chisel cracks in their image, and some even chip pieces off, whole chunks of their being falling to the ground. A knight is a knight as long as he acts like one, other wise he is nothing but a squire with a lance in the eyes of others.

"Tis hard for an empty bag to stand upright," In mundane terms; it's hard to be proud, if you have nothing. You need substance, a reason to strut down the hallways head held high. I know it's tough when the world keeps knocking you down, but there's still hope. I myself have been knocked down once or twice and I always found a reason to stand up and smile. That reason is this; your still here, and their not taking me down that easily. The proverb says it's hard for the bag to stand upright, not impossible.

"He does not possess wealth; it possesses him." This proverb means that wealth may change a person. Sometimes, that change may not be for the good. Someone who suddenly comes into a large amount of money, may be changed into a completely different person that no one would have expected was there. Someone may become greedy and selfish. They pretty much become obsessed with themselves and their money.

"Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead." This proverb means that you never know who you can trust with your secrets. The only person you can really trust is yourself. Someone may not know who their true friends are, and one of their "friends" could be setting them up for disaster if that "friend" is pressuring someone to tell them their deepest secret. Keep your secrets to yourself because you never know who may be trying to sabotage you.

For people who do not know how to handle it, wealth can become a very powerful and influential force.This lifestyle inspires two types of people. The first being the kind, philanthropic, and socially and politically active. These people use their money to help and improve the world. The next type of person is greedy, self-absorbed, and withdrawn. They are only concerned about themselves and their money and become obsessed with their wealth.

This proverb is just saying straight forward, live your life to it's fullest. You don't have much time while your alive and you need to make the most out of it. Life is short and you can rest when it is over and live it up now.

   The proverb, "He does not possess wealth, it possess him.", is very simple, obvious, and true. I feel that money is something that changes alot of people in the worst way. If you are someone who has started from scratch and worked your way towards success, you can either become generous and helpful or greedy and wrong. Alot of the time, people forget who they really are because money takes over. Like someone who gets his first car at age 21 because he saved up, and then becoming successful and having his tenth car at 23. Its not necessary, its just for publicity, when in reality that person probably felt great after saving up for his "dream car". Its upsetting to see the best of a person become the worst of themselves. I think if you do become wealthy you should always share with others, as well as stay generous and thoughtful. :]
    Another Proverb is, "Three may keep a secret, if two are dead". I feel like this has alot of meaning about trust. The hardest thing a person accomplishes in life is placing there trust in someone. Alot of the time we may find that even are closest friends are the backstabbers in our lives. "Distrust" is very hurtful and cruel, even in relationships, you think you can trust the guy/girl your with until they totally become non loyal. The best advice is to keep most things to yourself, unless you've known someone for a long enough time where you feel comfortable telling them secrets. And remember, you can always trust a family member if you need to vent.! :]

This proverb means that when you have wealth, it possess you. When people get caught up in fame and fortune they forget where they come from and they allow the wealth to change them. Since money and wealth can change you, it is very important to understand the value of money. If you do not understand this value you can damage many relationships and the greed will cause you to  brake all boundaries just for more. The greed possesses you.

This is a very inspirational proverb. It is one of my favourites. This proverb means that you should live your life to the fullest because you will have time to rest when you're dead.  Basically you should do what you want to do, take chances, and enjoy every single moment of life. It will be over before you know it, so you have to live it up.

       I think that proverb is completely true. You should use your time wisely while your alive. I personally sleep way too much and i shouldnt when thats all im going to be doing when im dead.

"Fish and visitors smell in three days." 

          Its funny but also extremely relatable. Fish begin to smell after three days and you sure do know when its time for your visitor to leave after three days. When they first get there its fine, then you just get tired of them and want your house back to normal.

 The proverb I chose is "Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead.". I think that this means that if you have a secret and you share it with someone, there going to tell someone else. The only way you can keep a secret is if you keep it to yourself. If you tell a secret to someone there going to tell someone and trust that there not going to tell anyone, and its going to keep going until everyone hears about it.

         The second proverb is "'Tis hard for an empty bad to stand up straight." To me this means that if you don't compliment people and talk to them, they aren't going to have any confidence and aren't going to stand up and be proud. I feel that if you make fun of someone and do not treat them with respect, that they aren't going to believe in themselves and aren't going to stand up for anything they want. Personally when I'm in a bad mood or someone says something to me that is rude I'm not always going to be happy and stand up straight. Im going to look like a bum and I'm not going to care.

"Be ashamed to catch yourself idle." Is a great way to live your life because there is always something that you can be doing to better yourself as a person. Whether it be sports, school, or social skills. I remember my grandpa would always be doing something he used to say that in the army you are so busy that when you get out it carries on into the real world. I feel this way about the proverb because there are some many people in our country that lay on their couch all day and are unemployed and do nothing to benefit society. That makes me angry because some school days I wont get home until like 9 o' clock because of the extra activities I partake in.

"Tis hard for an empty bag to stand upright." I believe this is true because if you are the kind of person that is anti-social and would much rather stay at your house and play video games all day there is nothing interesting about you. You are sorta like and empty bag and when you get put into situations that involve communication you will struggle and fall down. My mother always said and still says today social skills is the most important thing you can know how to do. If you become friends with as many people as you can your life will benefit exponentially from it.

The proverb "A Lie stands on 1 leg, Truth on 2" may be short but has been true since the beginning of time. It basically says a lie will not get very far, but the truth will give you the freedom to walk without worry. For example, liars and cheaters never get too far and usually face long jail sentences, but the one criminal who decides to turn himself in may very well see a more generous sentence than his counterpart who decided to try and get away. The one who tells the truth will always be the one that earns respect.

Another proverb that hits me like a pillow full of barred soap is "Wish not so much to live long as to live well." What this proverb is saying is that people should live life to the fullest. We only live once and we should take advantage of the opportunities that face us. Living a long life is not as important as living a full life, and that will always be the truth. As of late a lot of people just want to live to be as old as possible and not worry about having fun. Most people don't realize how unhealthy of a practice that is. Live for expierence, not for age.

“He does not possess wealth, wealth posses him.” I think this means that people will do anything to acquire wealth. They will sell drugs, kill people and prostitute themselves or others. They will commit fraud, steal, and scam. Wealth compels immorality. The idea of wealth compels them, and when, if ever, they acquire it, they strive for more. Don’t get me wrong; the sweat of the brow and the breaking of the back may achieve wealth. The honest can be content; the greedy will exhaust themselves on the road to nowhere. The greedy will go as long as possible to extend their wealth, and never be content.

“A fat kitchen makes a lean will.” As I understand this, a fat kitchen implies they lack little. They have an excess of necessities. When little work is needed, ambitious people are scarce. When the rich have children, not many have the will to do anything unless their upbringing has taught the different. Unless this isn’t going as deep I am thinking and it just means that its hard to stay out of the kitchen with a lot of delicious foods.

The first thing I felt when i read the first maxim was how true. There have been times when my mom would buy huge amounts of junk food and I just wished it was all gone, just so I wouldn't regret eating it all two hours later. When there's accessible food only a room away it's hard to say no. No matter if the food was bought for a special purchase or if you know it'll give you the runs, it takes a lot to say "I'm not hungry" when food is surrounding you.

When I read the second proverb what immediately popped in my mind were three dancers breezing through choreography and one that could not avoid mistake. The first three dancers weren't given a second glance from the dancing director, but the music stopped when the fourth dancer couldn't mimic the steps of the latter three. Everyone was frustrated, upset, and annoyed at her lack of talent. The fourth incapable dancer caused a stir and ruined progress so in other words, making a noise.

"The worst wheel of the cart makes the most noise." is a proverb that can be taken in many shapes and forms. For some, we interpret it as a group of friends in high school. A girl who constantly is causing drama, or is a terrible friend to begin with tends to cause the biggest effects in a situation. Or for others this could mean, that one should steer away from that wheel because they easily contract a migraine. By this I mean that one who has a low tolerance for arguments and confrontations, tries to avoid these kinds of people in life altogether as best they can. Maybe for others who are extremely literal, it's as simple as picking a different cart at the supermarket. Either way, this proverb can be interpretted in many different ways.

Another proverb that really sticks out to me is, "Be ashamed to catch yourself idle." because of it's power. With people who always are pushing themselves to better out to their lives, to make a better future for themselves; they too know their consequences. This proverb can mean that if someone not being as productive as they can be for an ignorant reason, they should scold themself to an extent. They shouldn't hammer themselves further and further into the ground because they're not where they are either destined to be or where they're told to be. They should apply pressure to their wounds, and treat it so that it may mend itself. Emotional wounds may be a cause of lack of productivity, and those tend to be the hardest to treat though it is not impossible. I think that this proverb truly motivates someone who strives for themself to perservere through the battle. Though lastly, for them to complete their victory of the war.

The proverb "There'll be sleeping enough of the grave" is a short but really life changing sentence. I love this proverb because its something to live by and makes a lot of sense. The idea behind this proverb is that once your dead your have the rest of eternity to sleep and relax, we only get one life and we need to make every single second count for something. People need to get up and go do something with there life or it's just a waste of life. I feel this way about this proverb because its bold and really gets to the point. Personally I try to live my life like this. I know i'm only in high school, but there are so many things that a high school student can accomplish just by staying up and doing a little bit of extra work or staying up and studying the next lesson in a book just to get that jump ahead.

The proverb "Want of care does us more damage than want of knowledge" is a sentence that a person should stare at and think about. This proverb is saying that when you care about something so much and begin to over think it will start to make you over think about whatever it is about. The want of knowledge part ties in with the caring part because if you know how to do something and you've been doing it for years then there shouldn't be a worry about it in your mind. If you start to care about something and i'm not saying caring isn't bad its just that if a person cares too much about something it will start affecting your life in a negative way. For example i'm on the rifle team and we learned that since we've been shooting for years now that we know how to do it without even thinking, that's where the knowledge comes in. With caring its good to care about your target but when you start to care too much you begin to over think about the target and you do poorly. If you have the knowledge about something and you've been doing it for awhile let it come naturally to you.

I think the proverb, "He does not possess wealth, it possess him.", is very true. I think that money can change a lot of people in many ways. Sometimes a person can get so caught up in riches and fame, that they forget what it took to get them there. Having wealth and fame is always exciting, but it shouldn't take over your life. In some cases, wealth can become too overwhelming. It can damage your life and hurt the people you love. I feel this way because money is very important to people. Its good to work hard and get paid very well, but it shouldn't take over your life.

I think, "Tis hard for an empty bag to stand upright.'', is a very motivational quote. I think it means, if you don't have any encouragement, then you're not going to be determined to do anything with your life. You should be filled with confidence, drive, motivation and determination. So that way, when you stand up for yourself, no one can knock you down. You should be able to hold your own. No one should be able to discourage you from what you believe in. I feel this way because you should never give up on anything you do. If you have confidence, you'll be able to stand on your own.
