In our lives one of the things most sacred to us is our reputation. Our reputation is what lets us hangout with certain people or ridiculed by others. Just as Poor Richard's proverb, "Glass, china, and reputation are easily cracked and never well mended" one small little incident can ruin someones reputation for good. Even if it is the smallest of things or even appearance people can stereotype a person and by telling others, hurt that persons reputation. Just as it is so easy to break glass, it is just as hard to fix it.

Poor Richards Almanac Proverbs
I interpret "There'll be sleeping enough in the grave" as saying that we can rest when we die but right now we should live our lives to the fullest. We don't want to miss out on the great opportunities that the world has to offer us. If we lie around we miss out on a lot of things that we can do when we are alive. Once we die those fun activities are taken away from us. We should get to experience the things in life that we can't do as corpse. For example, I could be one of those teens who goes to school, comes home, does homework, then hangs out at home, but i'm not. I try to do all this fun after school activities that I can do. I always have time when i'm old and dead to lounge around.

I really liked your post Maya! I think you interpreted the proverbs well, and clearly got your thoughts across. I like the proverbs you picked. The only thing is that I had to do a little investigating to see who wrote the post! There were very few grammatical errors like punctuation and capitalization, so good job!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post! Your proverbs were really well defined and explained with an example. Just a few errors of capitalization and grammatical errors.
ReplyDeleteWell done on being the first post! Not bad... a couple of typos. At this point, I shouldn't see careless mistakes.
